For my WRT 205 class, I need to write a paper about pop culture. Because everyone in the class is writing about current pop culture, my paper is going to be about the soundtrack to the 1969 Dennis Hopper film Easy Rider. Why stick with the norm?
In particular, my main focus will either be on how a generation effects the music that it produces or how the music of a generation effects the people. The generation that I am focusing on is the baby-boomers during the late 1960s to mid 1970s. It appears that the music that was put out by a few, but the social, political, life-choice ideas where adopted by many.
For my paper, I will be using the film Easy Rider, the soundtrack, an excellent book about Hollywood in the 1960s, and multiple artist, album, and movie reviews. This is a paper that will interest those that are curious abouth political and social movements through music. I'm definitely excited to begin research on it and to start writing.
